Woman who berated policemen also threatened to hit civilian, say S'gor cops


KUALA LUMPUR: The woman who berated two policemen in Taman Sri Gombak here is also being investigated for threatening to hit a civilian.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the woman had allegedly gone to a restaurant in Taman Sri Gombak at about 12pm on Thursday (June 15) and scolded the victim for making too much noise at a neighbour's house.

"She then claimed to be a civil servant and threatened to detain the victim for being noisy.

She also threatened to hit the victim and scolded other people at the restaurant," he said in a statement on Friday (June 16).

The suspect is also being investigated for berating two policemen and refusing to cooperate when asked to produce her authority card, said Comm Hussein.

"We have two investigation papers. The first is based on a report by the civilian victim under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

"The second is based on a report by two policemen under Section 186 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for preventing a public official from carrying out his duty and using foul language," he said.

Further checks revealed that two videos of the incident went viral on social media, he said.

"The suspect has been identified and she has been summoned to the Gombak police headquarters.

"We urge the public to stop sharing the videos," he said.
