Selangor folk to enjoy 30% savings on seven crucial food items

AMPANG: People in Selangor can now enjoy 30% savings on basic food necessities, including fish and meat, through the Jualan Mega Ehsan Rahmah (JER) programme.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who launched the first JER yesterday, said there are seven types of basic food necessities, namely fresh chicken, rice, eggs, cooking oil, fish, sugar and frozen meat, being offered. “The effort by the state government through the Jualan Ehsan Rakyat in Selangor has already been established and made its name even before the 15th General Election, benefiting those in need.

“I was elated when there was a suggestion for a cooperation between the ministry and state government merging the Jualan Rahmah programme with Jualan Ehsan Rakyat di Selangor.

“The ministry in Selangor and the state government have taken the next logical step with JER, which not only reduces implementation costs but increases the impact and benefits the less fortunate group,” Salahuddin added.

Also present at the launch at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council AU2 multipurpose hall were Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Amirudin Shari.
