Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the police were notified about the video at 8.20am on Saturday (May 27), adding that the video shows a quarrel between the illegal immigrant and the local resident at the location.

"In the 19-second video, the suspect was seen showing an obscene gesture to a local resident after being told to remove a pile of metal junk that he had placed on the road.

"The suspect was later arrested at 11.30am today at a house in Lorong 6," he said in a statement here.

Supt Tok added that the suspect has confessed to being the person in the video and said that the incident occurred three days before it went viral on social media.

The video was posted on Twitter and has more than 580,000 views and close to 3,000 retweets as of the time of writing.

Supt Tok added that the suspect will be remanded on Sunday (May 28) to help with the investigations.
