The Star's Tarrence Tan wins Best Media (Individual) at Labour Day celebration


KUALA LUMPUR: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil (pic) congratulated media practitioners who received recognition in conjunction with Labour Day, including The Star journalist Tarrence Tan.

He won the Best Media (Individual) category.

"I am very proud of the media, including Tarrence, whom I saw wearing a suit and tie for the first time today, after being recognised as among the best media workers in the country.

"I have known him for a very long time. He is indeed a very good worker," he told a press conference after the Labour Day celebration at Bukit Jalil here on Friday (May 1).

Fahmi said he was proud to see media personnel being recognised for their contributions.

He also congratulated Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) which was named the best media organisation this year.
