Cops nab four suspects over fatal shooting near Puchong food court

SERDANG: Police have arrested four suspects linked to the fatal shooting of a serial offender here.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, at the launch of the Seri Kembangan police station hall on Monday (May 15), said the suspects were arrested on May 12.

“They were arrested within the Kinrara area and have been remanded until May 18. As of now, we believe that the motive behind the murder was due to gang activities,” he said.

On May 11, a 31-year-old man was shot dead near the Everyday Food Court in Jalan Bandar 1 here.

Police investigations showed that the suspect had a criminal record with 21 previous offences, including under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code (armed gang robbery).

He had also been arrested under the Prevention of Crime Act (Poca) and Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma).

In an unrelated case, Comm Hussein said that investigations into the fatal stabbing of a man near Selayang Centre Point in Jalan Selayang Baru have nearly concluded.

The case saw one permanent resident arrested on May 9, just hours after the incident.

“The suspect had a debt with the victim and they stayed near each other. The suspect sells jewelry and he had a history of borrowing money from the victim.

“During the incident, the suspect had owed the victim around RM3,000 and there was a dispute over this. It is believed that during a meet-up, the suspect stabbed the victim with a fork,”he said.
