Former student among three nabbed for burgling private school


KUALA LUMPUR: A former student and two others have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a private school and stealing computers.

On May 6, the manager of a private school in Taman Ampang Utama noticed signs of a break-in in one of the rooms of the school.

Upon closer examination, he noticed that a TV decoder and 13 laptops had gone missing, with losses estimated to be around RM8,000.

"On May 9 between 3.30pm and 8.40pm, three male suspects aged between 19 and 20 years old were arrested.

"One was a former student," Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said in a statement.

The arrests were made in Jalan Ampang Kiri, Taman Ampang Utama and Jalan Putra Sulaiman Ampang.

Police also seized eight laptops and two handphones.

The case is being investigated for breaking into a house to commit burglary.
