KUALA LUMPUR: The extreme hot weather that is currently hitting several countries not only affects humans, but also poses a risk to animals, which can also suffer from heat stroke.
Former Zoo Negara assistant director, Assoc Prof Datuk Dr Vellayan Subramaniam, who is also a pharmacy lecturer at UiTM Puncak Alam, said that just like humans, heat stroke can also prove fatal as well as cause damage to the internal organs of animals if not treated immediately.
