PETALING JAYA: The six immediate measures for Malaysians, including higher fuel subsidy eligibility, announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Sunday (Aug 30) reflect the Madani government’s commitment to safeguarding their well-being and building the nation together, says Nga Kor Ming.
The Housing and Local Government Minister said the initiatives took into account feedback from the people, addressed their daily needs, and would directly benefit them.
"Malaysia was built by Malays, Chinese, Indians, Dayaks, Kadazans, (everyone), regardless of race or background, who worked together to develop the nation.
"The six initiatives announced by the Prime Minister are clear evidence that the Madani government listens to the pulse of the people and always prioritises their well-being," he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 31).

The measures announced include restoring the basic Budi95 petrol eligibility from 200 litres to 300 litres a month, increasing the maintenance allocations for all types of schools by 50% next year, and opening the AI for Rakyat Programme to Malaysians aged 18 to 30.
Other measures include RM1bil through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to strengthen the public healthcare sector’s digital capacity, raising the e-Invoice exemption threshold from RM1mil to RM3mil in annual turnover, and introducing a RM200mil Geran Sejahtera Madani to assist hawkers, small traders, night-market traders and mothers running businesses from home.
Meanwhile, Nga said Malaysia’s achievements over 69 years of independence would not have been possible without the contributions and collective efforts of all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or background.
He said that only by continuing to uphold the spirit of unity and inclusiveness could Malaysia move towards a more prosperous, fair and competitive future.
