Dr Radzi Abu Hassan named new Health DG


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan (pic) has been appointed as the new Health Ministry director-general effective April 21, says the Health Ministry.

Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa announced the appointment in a statement Tuesday (April 25), adding that Dr Muhammad Radzi was appointed based on his qualifications and vast experience as the Health deputy director-general (research and technical support).

“I am confident with the experience, knowledge and expertise as well as credibility of Dr Radzi, he can give his best and be part of the team ensuring that the objectives and agenda of health reforms can be done holistically inline with the Health White Paper,” she said in the statement.

Dr Radzi previously served as the Medical Department head at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Kedah and was also the Kedah Clinical Research Centre Department Head.

He was also previously appointed as the National Head of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
