Roadworks on Karak Highway cause of congestion, says LPT

PETALING JAYA: Roadworks along the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway are the cause of congestion along an 11.7km stretch.

The East Coast Highway (LPT), in a Twitter message Tuesday (April 18), said the traffic congestion started at KM20.1 eastbound until the location of the roadworks.

LPT also said the middle and right lanes from KM31.8 to KM32.7 eastbound (Genting Sempah) were closed to facilitate the roadworks, Sinar Harian reported.

"The closure is for pavement rehabilitation works," it added.

Checks on social media showed the traffic slowdown began at midnight on Monday (April 17) with road users facing a four-hour traffic jam.
