KUALA LUMPUR: Six foreigners have been detained following a break-in at an office located at Wisma Manuris in Wangsa Melawati here.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said police received a report on the break-in on April 1, where RM50,000 in foreign currency and two mobile phones were stolen.

"Investigations led to various raids conducted at Mizumi Residences in Metro Prima on April 13.

"We detained six foreign men aged between 31 and 41 years old," he said in a statement on Monday (April 17).

Various items were seized including 38 pieces of cash in different denominations, clothing worn by the suspects, four walkie-talkies and several tools, he said.

"We are investigating under Section 457 of the Penal Code. We believe the suspects were also responsible for two other similar cases in Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam," he added.

Supt Ashari said the suspects have been remanded until Thursday (April 20).

"We are still tracking down another suspect who is still at large.

"We urge those with information to contact the Wangsa Maju police at 03-9289 9222 or the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or any nearest police station.
