Cops nab two over assault of lorry driver involved in fatal Telok Gong accident, on the hunt for one more


KLANG: Two men have been arrested over the assault of a lorry driver who was involved in a fatal accident with a motorcycle at Jalan Telok Gong here.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said two 38-year-old suspects were arrested and a third suspect, who is still at large, has been identified.

"We are looking for a 'Muhammad Putra Abdullah', 36, who is believed to be involved in the case.

"Those with information on his whereabouts should contact us immediately," he said in a statement on Tuesday (March 28).

He said of the two suspects currently in police custody, one had a prior record.

"We have taken statements from six witnesses so far and the investigating officer is in the midst of completing the probe before the investigation papers are handed over to the deputy public prosecutor soon," he said.

It was reported that an angry mob allegedly beat up the lorry driver and damaged his truck which was involved in the fatal accident.

A nine-year-old was killed in a road accident after a lorry crashed into a motorcycle here.

The incident occurred at Kampung Telok Gong on Wednesday (March 22).

Three victims were involved and one of them died at the scene.

It is learnt that the motorcycle rider, a 54-year-old woman, was sending her neighbour’s two children back from school.

ACP Cha advised the public to refrain from taking matters into their own hands.

He said the public could detain a person through a citizen’s arrest but must never resort to violence.
