Zahid: I'm ready to be investigated by authorities over Bersatu’s allegations

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has reiterated that he is ready to be investigated by the authorities after a report made by Bersatu information chief Datuk Razali Idris.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that he has yet to discuss the matter with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who was also mentioned by Razali in the report.

“As a very transparent individual, I’m ready to be investigated because the report that was made doesn’t have any basis,” he told reporters at the Industrial Training Institute here on Thursday (March 16).

Razali has earlier filed a report alleging that Anwar and Ahmad Zahid were behind the charges against Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Bersatu leader accused Anwar for misusing his power by allegedly pressuring the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to start an investigation against Muhyiddin.

He also alleged that the duo attempted to weaken Perikatan Nasional ahead of the state elections slated this year.
