PN 'generals' Azmin, Radzi and Rashid to lead charge in Selangor polls

CHERAS: Perikatan Nasional's three "generals" will lead the charge in Selangor in the upcoming state election, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Perikatan chairman and Bersatu president named Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Datuk Seri Radzi Jidin and Datuk Seri Abdul Rashid Asari as the three Bersatu "generals" to lead the coalition's election machinery in the Selangor polls.

"Azmin has assessed it and said that we can take over (Selangor).

"We hope in terms of funding, we will be able to field candidates with whatever we have and with the help of our fellow Perikatan component parties, especially PAS and Gerakan," said the Pagoh MP and former prime minister, as Bersatu accounts had been frozen by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for investigation.

Earlier, at the winding-up of the annual general assembly on Sunday (March 12), Muhyiddin said the current government has failed to solve the country's economic problems and fulfil its general election manifesto pledges.

"Do not accuse us of trying to force a revolution as we will never do anything unconstitutional that is against democracy,

"We will prove in the next state elections that the people will choose Perikatan despite us having no money," he said.

"The government today has passed the 100-day mark but there are no concrete policies to solve the economic problems of the people. This will turn people to vote for us," said Muhyiddin.

Elections in six states, including Selangor, will be held before the end of this year.
