Swiss students in Sandakan to witness ocean plastic first-hand

The plastic processing facility ran by Future Alam Borneo which was funded by SIMocean students, located near the Sim Sim water village in Sandakan.

KOTA KINABALU: Two postgraduates business students from a Swiss university were recently in Sandakan to witness the ocean plastic problem first-hand as part of the collaboration with a local environmental non-governmental organisation (NGO).

The Strategic and International Management (SIM) course students from St Gallen University were part of the SIMocean platform, which was started back in 2020 as a social and environmental effort by the Masters students to complement their course by looking at potential solutions to reducing ocean-bound plastics.
