PETALING JAYA: The downpour has caused traffic congestion in several parts of Kuala Lumpur on Monday (Feb 13) evening.

According to tweets from Astro Radio Traffic, the heavy rain, which started around 4pm, has caused traffic delays around several roads in the city centre, including Jalan Pudu, Jalan Kuchai Lama, Jalan Yaacob Latif, and Jalan Tun Sambanthan.

Images on the Twitter account, taken by the Kuala Lumpur Command and Control Centre, see vehicles going through some of the roads which were flooded up to ankle-deep.

The heavy rain also caused trees to fall in two different locations - Jalan Gereja and Jalan Kuchai Lama - causing congestion, from 5.30pm onwards.

Images showed that the fallen trees had damaged two vehicles in two different locations, and road users were advised to use alternative roads.
