Seven investigation papers into fake news opened since Dec 1, says deputy minister


JOHOR BARU: Seven investigation papers on insensitive social media posts about the Rulers, racial matters and religion have been opened, says Deputy Communication and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching.

She added that the special task force set up by the ministry on Dec 1 last year is tasked with monitoring the spread of fake news on social media that could be harmful to Malaysia’s political system, economy, societies, religions and cultures.
