Woman nabbed for allegedly insulting Islam on TikTok

SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan Islamic Affairs Department has detained a Muslim woman for allegedly insulting Islam and disrespecting the month of Ramadan during a live broadcast on social media.

Its director Datuk Mohd Asri Abdullah said preliminary investigations revealed that the 27-year-old woman was seen consuming food and drinks during a live session with her followers on her TikTok account.

She allegedly committed the act around 6.45pm on Feb 22.

The clip has since gone viral.

"We detained the woman yesterday (Feb 24) to further probe the matter under Section 50 of the Syariah Criminal (Negri Sembilan) Enactment 1992," he said in a statement.
