Get ahead of Raya fashion

Ready for Raya: Ricayanti arranging some of the specially-crafted headgear including songkok, tanjak and kopiah at her store.

SEREMBAN: Ricayanti Nasrun’s shop in a shopping mall near here is among the busiest during Ramadan as customers make a beeline to get new songkok and tanjak to welcome the first day of Syawal.

Her customers, who include non-Muslims, are often spoilt for choice as they check out rows of jet-black songkok including those made out of fine quality velvet material, shimmering songket tanjak and knitted prayer caps to be worn during terawih prayers.
