Sabah floods: Sook, Sipitang and Beaufort declared disaster zones

KOTA KINABALU: Floods continue to strike parts of Sabah, this time with Sook, Sipitang and Beaufort being declared disaster zones.

Water levels in various villagers rose in the wee hours on Wednesday (Feb 25), forcing many to start preparing for evacuation.

Rescuers including firemen and Civil Defence Forces have gone to the affected villages to scout the situation and to bring victims to relief centres, where needed.

In Pitas, a total of 1,695 victims from 861 families still remain in the 46 temporary shelters that were activated since the weekend to house flood victims.
