Bung meets Zahid in KL, one day after Sabah BN withdraws support for GRS

KOTA KINABALU: One day after severing ties with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government, Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has met with Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Kula Lumpur.

Bung, accompanied by senior Barisan leaders, held discussions with Ahmad Zahid and Barisan deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan over the political developments in Sabah.

However, Bung did not disclose what they discussed with Ahmad Zahid.

In a Facebook post on Saturday (Jan 7), he gave little away about the topic of discussion during the meeting.

"Every beginning has an end. The struggle has just started and the journey is still long," he said in a cryptic post.

On Friday (Jan 6) night, Bung announced that Sabah Barisan had withdrawn its support for the GRS government.

Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor met with Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at 4pm on Saturday.

Hajiji is working to ensure he has a majority in the state assembly by way of a possible coalition with Pakatan Harapan, who has seven assemblymen in Sabah.
