GE15: MCA's Dr Wee sends congratulations to PM Anwar


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has congratulated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister.

The MCA president sent his congratulations along with a message of hope for the future government under Anwar's leadership.

"Congratulations to YAB PM10! A big responsibility to uphold.

"Hopefully with the leadership of the new YAB PM, our country can eradicate the politics of revenge and avoid any division in a plural society," he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Nov 24).

He added that the country's stability and prosperity is dependent on the need to adopt a culture of moderation and diversity.

Dr Wee, who is also Barisan Nasional vice-chairman, also said that he respected Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al- Mustafa Billah Shah's decision to appoint Anwar as Prime Minister of the unity government.

"I respect this decision to form a unity government for the sake of political stability of the country and for all parties to work together to develop the economy for the welfare of the people," he said.
