Pahang BN in talks with PH, PN on forming state govt

KUANTAN: Pahang Barisan Nasional appears to have held talks with Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional on forming the state government.

Pahang Pakatan secretary Rizal Jamin said chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari held discussions with state Barisan chief Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail on Nov 22.

"The outcome of the discussion is positive towards forming a Pahang government between Barisan and Pakatan that is stable and inclusive in order to ensure the prosperity and sustainable economic development of the state of Pahang," said Rizal in a statement on Wednesday (Nov 23).

Rizal issued the statement on behalf of Amirudin and the eight Pakatan assemblymen in Pahang.

The Pahang state assembly is still hanging in the balance, with Barisan, Pakatan or Perikatan Nasional unable to command a simple majority.

After the 15th General Election, Perikatan holds 17 state seats in Pahang, Barisan (16) and Pakatan (eight).

Pahang Perikatan, represented by PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, also claimed to have held talks with Wan Rosdy.

On Wednesday (Nov 23), Tuan Ibrahim, who is the newly-elected Cheka assemblyman, posted a picture of himself in a group photo with Wan Rosdy on Facebook.
