BN's defeat in GE15 down to one person, says Annuar Musa

PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Annuar Musa blamed Barisan Nasional's defeat in the 15th General Election on one man and called for more transparency.

Without naming the person, the Umno Ketereh division chief said the coalition needed to address internal rumblings and the attempt to delay meeting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong showed there was something wrong.

"Barisan should not make it difficult for the King to carry out his duties which shows the issue is the coalition and not Istana Negara," said Annuar on Facebook on Wednesday (Oct 23).

"There is evidence that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim doesn't have the numbers he needs from Barisan to form the government and requesting for a postponement might be viewed as the coalition collaborating with certain parties.

The former Ketereh MP said this was one of the reasons Barisan was seen as causing problems to the people rather than providing solutions.

The King was expected to meet Barisan MPs on Wednesday (Nov 23) morning, but the coalition said on Tuesday that it was seeking a postponement to work out more details.

Pakatan won 82 seats while Perikatan won 73 in GE15 and both coalitions are scurrying to cobble up a government with other parties.

The King met both Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday and urged the people to remain calm until a solution is found to the stalemate.
