Stop circulating 10-year-old The Star front page, does not reflect current events

PETALING JAYA: Star Media Group Bhd stresses that an image of The Star front page with the headline "Hadi ready to be PM" circulating on social media does not reflect current events.

The front page is from Nov 19, 2012, ahead of the 13th General Election on May 5, 2013, and the 10-year-old story can be viewed here: https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2012/11/19/hadi-itll-be-a-thrill-to-be-pm

The Star denies that the viral image is a screenshot of its front page on Sunday (Nov 20, 2022) and stresses that this is a 10-year-old image that does not portray current events in any way.

The Star also strongly urges all parties to stop circulating the 10-year-old image to avoid any misunderstanding or cause confusion among the public.

For the record, the front page of The Star on Sunday (Nov 20, 2022) carries the headline "No clear winner" and reflects the results of the 15th General Election (GE15) on Saturday (Nov 19, 2022).
