GE15: No clear winner in Pahang or Perak, says EC


PUTRAJAYA: There is no clear winner in the Perak and Pahang state polls as no party has obtained more than 50% of the seats contested in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said 70.48% and 66.71% of voters turned up for Pahang and Perak respectively.

“Out of 41 seats in Pahang, Perikatan Nasional won 17, Barisan Nasional won 16 and Pakatan Harapan won 8 seats. One seat - Tioman -could not be announced due to the death of a candidate.

“In Perak, for the 59 seats contested, Perikatan won 26, Pakatan won 24 and Barisan won 9 seats,” he said.
