GE15: Syed Saddiq retains Muar, says EC


PETALING JAYA: Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has retained his Muar seat for the second term.

According to official results from the Election Commission, the Muda president, who contested on a Pakatan Harapan ticket, won with a 1,345-vote majority.

He polled 19,961 votes, beating Barisan Nasional’s Mohd Helmy Abd Latif (14,581) and Perikatan Nasional’s Abdullah Husin (18,616).

The former youth and sports minister first won the seat in the 14th General Election in 2018.
