GE15: GPS' Ahmad Johnie thanks voters in Igan after retaining seat


PETALING JAYA: Gabungan Parti Sarawak's (GPS) Ahmad Johnie Zawawi thanked voters in Igan for their support, saying he was fully committed to fulfilling his duties as their elected representative.

"I will continue to bring up Igan's development needs, especially basic infrastructure and education.

"The future of Igan depends on an educated generation," he told reporters when met at the GPS 15th General Election (GE15) watch party at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on Saturday (Nov 19).

Ahmad Johnie retained the Igan parliamentary seat with a 14,662-vote majority, defeating Pakatan Harapan's Hud Andri who lost his deposit with only 1,162 votes.
