GE15: Covid-19-positive voters must wear face masks when polling, says Health DG

PETALING JAYA: Covid-19-positive voters must wear facemasks at polling centres, says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic).

"This is to ensure that the voting process is conducted smoothly, particularly in terms of reducing the spread of Covid-19," said the Health Director General in a press statement on Monday (Nov 14).

He added that the wearing of face masks for all other voters is highly recommended.

"The Health Ministry has taken the initiative to advise the public to adhere to health recommendations," said Dr Noor Hisham.

He added that voters who test positive for Covid-19 must ensure physical distancing when at the voting centres and said that such voters are also barred from using public transport including e-hailing.

Dr Noor Hisham also said that Covid-19 positive voters are not allowed to stop anywhere before and after voting and must return home immediately after casting their ballots.
