Body of teenager found off Likas Bay


KOTA KINABALU: The body of a teenager who fell into a river near the Likas Bay here on Friday (Nov 11) has been found.

He has been identified as 15-year-old student Edgar Edelson Ajintap, who was reported as missing by his family.

His body was discovered by rescuers at around 7.35am on Saturday (Nov 12), the second day of the search.

Prior to the discovery of this body, rescuers had thought that the victim was an adult based on the report lodged by a witness who saw the victim fall from the bridge.

Likas Fire and Rescue station chief Agustavia Joe Guasi said the victim’s family has identified the victim as Edgar, and his body has been taken to the hospital for a postmortem.

Police have classified this as a sudden death.
