KOTA KINABALU: Upko has appealed to Sabahans to come out in droves to vote in GE15.
Kota Kinabalu Upko chief Dennison Indang said election fever was running high following the announcement of candidates.
“This is a very important election,” he added.
The Upko supreme council member said GE15 would set Malaysia on the right path.
He added that every voter must exercise their right.
“We have Sabahans from all over the country making arrangements to come home to vote.
“Some will be coming home from overseas. Those living in the city should get back to their hometowns too,” Indang said.
Statistics from previous results showed that in many constituencies, victory was achieved by slim majorities, some with just two-digit figures and others in the low three-digits, he said.
He added that the outcome of these results were due to low voter turnout and it could have been very different if more voters had turned up.
“As a grassroots leader, I call on all voters to make their stand known ... as every vote counts,” Indang stressed.
