Baby girl found abandoned at Bukit Jalil eatery

KUALA LUMPUR: A two-month-old baby girl was found abandoned near an eatery in Bandar Baru Bukit Jalil on Sunday (Sept 25), says Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin.

He said that the baby was found in a bag at an eatery at Apartment Sri Rakyat.

"Checks on the baby by medical personnel from the Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) at the scene confirmed that the baby is healthy. She was then brought to the Bukit Jalil police station and investigations are ongoing," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 27).

The case is being investigated for child abandonment under Section 317 of the Penal Code.
