POPULAR comedian Shuib Sepahtu (pic) has denied having an extramarital affair before the death of his wife, singer Siti Sarah Raissuddin, Berita Harian reported.

Accusations first arose after a video of entrepreneur Watie Hanafiah playing golf – with a man’s voice in the background that is said to sound like Shuib – went viral recently.

Shuib denied the voice in the video was his, saying that he took up golf only after the video was uploaded in 2019.

“I only started holding a golf club in May 2020, after the movement control order.

“At that time, the government had relaxed Covid-19 measures for golf, so I decided to try a new activity to avoid boredom. I contacted (actor) Sharnaaz Ahmad to play with me.

“Netizens who have any doubt can double-check pictures uploaded to my Instagram account,” he said, adding that any similarity in the voice could just be a coincidence.

Talk of Shuib’s relationship with Watie came about after a TikTok user uploaded a video showing the two had worn matching attire while attending a concert recently.

Shuib and the late Siti Sarah got married in 2011.

However, she died on Aug 9 last year of Covid-19.

> He was called an alien because of his physical disability, but a 31-year-old shrugged off such insults and took them as inspiration to succeed, Harian Metro reported.

Born with a spinal defect, Muhamad Faiz Mohd Noor overcame challenges and doubts by becoming a successful takoyaki business owner in Semenyih, Selangor.

“I quit my job as a sales assistant in a telecommunications company last year to focus on starting my business. I used to sell takoyaki under brands belonging to other people. Then I decided to build my own brand,” said Muhamad Faiz, who runs the business with his wife Nurul Athirah Hanafi, 28.

Takoyaki is a Japanese snack of savoury ball-shaped cakes.

The father of three said his business grew when he started to sell his takoyaki in Johor, Perak, Kelantan and Penang via a stockist system.

Muhamad Faiz set up his own production facility and is hoping to expand his brand nationwide soon.

“I know that I still have a long way to go in this business. There are those who look down on me, but we won’t get anywhere if we always follow what those people say.

“So I’ll just continue being positive and keep looking forward,” he said.

> Originally meant to be a hub for small entrepreneurs, business premises built five years ago near the Tok Bali fish market in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, have since been left to rot, Utusan Malaysia reported.

Costing millions of ringgit, the neglected premises had been overrun by plants and become a dumping ground for cats, according to local resident Kamarudin Ahmad, 40.

“A nearby wakaf land which was supposed to be a resting place for visitors is now filled with rubbish,” he said.

Another resident, Ismail Awang, 58, said he hoped the local government would help rejuvenate and clear the area, pointing out that the premises still had economic potential.

“This area is considered quite strategic and if it is promoted well, it has the potential to become successful due to the various facilities such as the prayer hall.”
