BKM Phase 3, approved appeals to be credited from Sept 20, says PM

PETALING JAYA: Payment for appeals and Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) Phase 3 will be credited in phases from Sept 20 to 27, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister added that recipients of the BKM Phase 3 will receive up to RM900.

“The remaining 80,000 applicants whose BKM appeals have been approved will receive up to RM2,350 according to their categories of eligibility which also includes the additional cash aid announced by the government last June,” he said in a statement on Friday (Sept16).

A total of 8.7 million recipients under the household, senior citizens and single categories as well as those whose appeals had been approved are set to benefit from the payment totaling to RM2.2bil.

“The government always prioritised the welfare of the Malaysian Family especially when the country is facing the challenge of rising inflation and geopolitical crisis which has impacted the global supply chain.

“The government remains committed to ensuring the well-being of the Malaysian Family, especially the target groups through social security, which will also continue to be a focus in Budget 2023,” he said.

As at Sept 2022, a total of RM5.9bil have been channeled to recipients of BKM and another RM2.1bil will be disbursed to those eligible in the Phase 4 in December.
