Najib never asked Govt to interfere in his court case, says Zaid Ibrahim


KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak had never asked his legal team to find ways for the government to interfere in his case, says Datuk Zaid Ibrahim.

The senior lawyer said neither did the former prime minister ask the team to look at how to withdraw the charges against him.

"Instead, what he had asked us to do was to convince the court to submit new evidence, which was that of a conflict of interest by the judge," he told Umno members at the special briefing at World Trade Centre on Saturday (Aug 27).

He said that it was important for Umno to win big in the next general election to ensure that justice would be served.
