Ong Ka Chuan: I have nothing to hide


KLANG: Former second minister for International Trade and Industry Tan Sri Ong Ka Chuan has denied he had received money as political funding from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB).

The former Tanjong Malim MP said he had nothing to hide and the allegations were baseless in nature.

Ong also added that he welcomed for the allegation to be duly investigated.

"I invite the accusing party to put forth all evidence and details regarding the allegations to the public domain and the relevant authorities," said Ong, who was also a former MCA secretary-general.

He added he was prepared and willing to cooperate with the authorities in investigations pertaining to the matter.

Ong's statement comes as an immediate response to media reports covering former deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's graft trial at the Shah Alam court.

The allegation was reportedly made by UKSB administrative manager David Tan Siong Sun during cross examination Mon.

Tan had claimed that both Ong and former MCA deputy president Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy had allegedly received political funding of

RM922,820 and RM7,856,920 respectively.

The hearing has been scheduled to run until Friday.

Ahmad Zahid has been leveled with 40 charges of accepting bribes from UKSB.
