KOTA BARU: Nearly 4,000 job opportunities are set to be offered at the three-day Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (AKM) or Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour from July 22 to 24 at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here.
Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said a total of 28 employers from various industries will participate in the Jamin Kerja Keluarga Malaysia Carnival, to be held in conjunction with the AKM Tour programme.
“As we all know, after the COVID-19 pandemic, many people want to rebuild their economies, so they should seize this opportunity to come to the programme to fill the vacancies.
“Those who are interested are also advised to register on the MyfutureJobs portal first. In fact, I was made to understand that there will be interview sessions at the Kelantan AKM Tour programme if the candidates are suitable for the positions offered,” he said in an interview with a local television station Sunday (July 17).
Ahmad said the Kelantan AKM Tour, to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, will also feature government service counters, exhibitions from various agencies and ministries, as well as booths of small and medium enterprises.
Elaborating, he said preparations for the AKM Tour are in full swing by the organiser with the cooperation of various parties including the Kelantan Mentri Besar’s Office, State Secretary's Office, Kelantan Economic Planning Unit, Kota Baru Municipal Council-Islamic City and the local community.
“We would like to call on the people to come together to enliven this tour and take advantage of the various activities that will be implemented,” he said.
Prior to this, Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who is also the state AKM Tour coordinator, was reported to have said that some 50,000 visitors are expected to be at the sixth edition of the tour. - Bernama
