Cops tracking down foul-mouthed duo in JB road bully incident

JOHOR BARU: Two people who were seen stopping a car in the middle of a busy road before shouting foul words at its driver at the Second Link here are being sought by the police.

This comes after several videos of the incident, believed to have taken place on Saturday morning (July 9), made the rounds on social media.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Rahmat Ariffin said police have obtained footage of the incident from the victims and are currently investigating.

“During the incident near the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) at the Second Link, a driver had sideswiped the suspects’ car while changing lanes.

“The suspects stopped their vehicle. Two people, a man and a woman, came out of the car. The man later started shouting vulgar words and made obscene gestures at the victims.

“The woman was seen yanking out the victims’ car plate before throwing it towards the car’s windscreen,” he said in a statement on Sunday (July 10).

He noted that during the incident, the victims were on their way home from Forest City, Johor Baru to Singapore.

“The victims did not suffer any injuries and there is only minor damage to their car,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.

In one of the video clips, the woman is seen trying to stop the victims’ car from moving by standing in front of it with her arms crossed.

In another clip, she yanks off the other car's number plate and throws it at the windscreen before getting back into her own car.

A man in a blue T-shirt is also seen shouting and making obscene gestures at the victims.

The duo was in a Singapore-registered car.
