Health clinic razed in Sook sub-district in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A health clinic was destroyed in a fire in Sabah's interior Sook sub-district on Tuesday (June 14).

The 1,114 sq m Mansiat health clinic, which was made out of wood, was completely razed following the 4.30pm incident.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said they received a distress call at 4.48pm, adding a fire engine with eight firefighters were subsequently rushed to the clinic located on Jalan Tulid here.

"As soon as they reached the scene, they found that the building had completely burnt down," the spokesman said when contacted on Tuesday.

The team proceeded to douse what was left of the fire as well as the charred structure before ending the operation at 6pm.

The spokesperson said there were no injuries or deaths reported in the incident, adding that they were still investigating the cause of the fire as well as assessing the damage.
