> A tenth grade (Form Five) student in India sat for an important exam just five hours after delivering a baby, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The girl, identified as Anjara Khatun, 18, from a village in Kolkata, West Bengal, apparently got married while attending school online from home during the pandemic.

The girl got pregnant last year but continued school and prepared for the state exams.

She reportedly gave birth at around 7am on Monday which was the day of the exam.

Waking up a few hours later after delivering the baby at the hospital, the young mother told her parents she wanted to sit for the exam.

The exam board reportedly agreed to allow her to sit for the exam at the hospital with a separate ward turned into a makeshift exam hall.

Her teachers, who were surprised by her determination, helped the girl get ready for the exam and assisted her.

Anjara is among over 1.1 million students who sat for the exam.
