Hishammuddin tests positive for Covid-19

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement released by the Defence Ministry on Tuesday (Feb 22), it said the Defence Minister has been ordered to undergo self-quarantine.

"The Office of the Senior Minister of Defense would like to inform that Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has tested positive for Covid-19.

"As an individual who has received a booster dose, he or she will undergo an isolation period in accordance with current regulations by the Health Ministry (KKM).

"He had indeed undergone a Covid-19 detection test of the RT-PCR type periodically in addition to regularly performing self-detection tests through the RTK Antigen method.

"He had undergone the RT-PCR Covid-19 testing and obtained a negative test result on Friday (Feb 18).

"Hishammuddin will continue to monitor and conduct appropriate duties throughout the period of isolation," said the statement.

Meanwhile, Hishammuddin, through a tweet on Twitter, stated that his condition is good.

"Alhamdulillah, I am in good condition at the moment. May everyone who is infected with this virus be healed immediately by Allah SWT. Stay safe everyone,” he said.
