PETALING JAYA: A total of 10 new Covid-19 clusters were identified on Saturday (Feb 5), says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said this brings the tally to 353 active clusters in Malaysia.
“As of Saturday, another 9,117 new Covid-19 cases were recorded for a cumulative total of 2,806,154.
"Out of the 9,117 new Covid-19 cases, 134 are imported cases and 8,983 are local cases.
"A total of 47 patients fall under Categories 3, 4 and 5 whereas there are 9,070 cases under Categories 1 and 2,” he added.
“Among them, 123 cases require treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) whereby 81 are confirmed Covid-19 cases and 42 are suspected cases, probabilities, and cases under investigation.
“There are 67 patients who require respiratory assistance. Out of them, 34 are confirmed Covid-19 cases and 33 are suspected cases, probabilities, and cases under investigation,” he said.
On the infectivity rate, Dr Noor Hisham said the national R-naught rate stood at 1.13 with all states and two territories recording a rate of 1.0 and above.
Perlis (1.33), Sabah (1.29), and Kedah (1.19) were the top three on the chart whereas Labuan was the lowest on the chart with a zero infectivity rate recorded.
