Covid-19: Those who have not been overseas in 14 days can enter state without filling in EnterSarawak forms

KUCHING: Non-Sarawakians travelling to Sarawak from other parts of Malaysia no longer need to apply for entry via EnterSarawak if they have not travelled abroad in the previous 14 days.

The state disaster management committee said this decision comes into effect this coming Friday (Jan 14).

“Malaysians who have no overseas travel history in the past 14 days and non-Malaysians who have been in the country for more than 14 days do not need to fill in the EnterSarawak form.

“However, they are still required to fill in the e-health declaration form,” the committee said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 12).

It said travellers must also be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and their vaccination status would be checked at the airport.

Previously, the relaxation of the EnterSarawak procedure only applied to Sarawakians travelling to the state from within Malaysia.

Non-Sarawakian spouses of Sarawakians as well as federal civil servants and private sector employees working in Sarawak were also exempted from filling in the EnterSarawak form.

Meanwhile, the committee said Sarawak reported 23 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Jan 12), bringing the state’s cumulative tally to 252,550.

It said eight of the cases were in Category One (asymptomatic) and 15 in Category Two (mild symptoms), with none in the more serious Categories of Three to Five.
