They consisted of 323 imported cases and 2,565 local cases, said the Health director-general.
Of the total, 98.8% or 2,852 cases consisted of Category One (asymptomatic) and Two (mild symptoms) patients, while 36 cases were in Categories Three, Four and Five, he added.
Category Three cases experience pneumonia while cases in Category Four have pneumonia and require oxygen.
Category Five is a critical stage, with patients requiring ventilator support.
Dr Noor Hisham said 248 cases required intensive care unit (ICU) treatment, while a further 117 cases required respiratory aid.
He noted that Malaysia only recorded one new cluster on Sunday, bringing the total number of active clusters to 172.
Meanwhile, the R-nought or Covid-19 infectivity level remained below 1 in Pahang, Kelantan, Kedah, Selangor, Johor, Putrajaya, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Terengganu and Sarawak.
On the other hand, it remained above 1 in Labuan, Sabah, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur and Negri Sembilan.
Meanwhile, as of 3pm on Sunday, three states – Pahang, Melaka and Johor – are still facing flooding.
Dr Noor Hisham said the number of victims affected by floods in the country stands at 3,949, and there were three Covid-19 cases at relief centres as of Sunday.

“The Health Ministry will continue to monitor and carry out preventive measures to ensure infectious diseases due to floods, particularly Covid-19, can be kept at bay,” he added.
