PETALING JAYA: All states in Malaysia will fall under Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) beginning Jan 3, said Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein (pic).
The Defence Minister said with Sarawak and Kelantan transitioning from Phase Three to Four from Monday, all states will fall under Phase Four of the NRP.
“After taking into account the current risk assessment carried out by the Health Ministry and the National Security Council (NSC), the government has agreed for Sarawak and Kelantan to move from Phase Three to Four of the NRP on Jan 3.
“With the transition of the two states, it means that all states in Malaysia will be in Phase Four of the NRP.
“I would like to express my deepest appreciation and congratulations to all parties, especially the state governments, who are working hard to manage the pandemic situation in their respective states, particularly in order to meet the threshold value set under the NRP,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The latest SOP information will be updated by the NSC on its official website www.mkn.gov.my.
Meanwhile, Hishammuddin exhorted the people to remain vigilant as the battle against Covid-19 has not ended.
“Don’t let your guard down and be too comfortable.
“Covid-19 remains a threat to safety and health, especially with the spread of the Omicron variant.
“All parties must continue to adhere to the existing SOP in a disciplined and responsible manner,” he added.
Hishammuddin also wished a Happy New Year to all Malaysians.
“The year 2021 is full of tests and challenges but thank God we have been able to go through it together,” he said.
“Let us pray that 2022 will be a more meaningful year for ourselves, our families and our country.”
