Sabah govt receives RM113.26mil in dividends from state GLCs, statutory bodies

KOTA KINABALU: Twelve state statutory bodies and government-linked companies (GLCs) paid over RM113.26mil in dividends to the state government on the side-lines of the Sabah Budget 2022 sitting on Tuesday (Dec 7).

The amount was an increase of 12.92% from the year before.

Dividends from statutory bodies- Sabah Ports Authority and Sabah Credit Corporation totalled RM20,243,636mil while over RM93mil was received from state GLCs.

These include Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd, Progressive Insurance Berhad, Sawit Kinabalu Berhad, Desa Plus Sdn Bhd,Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Tongod Plantation Sdn Bhd, Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd, Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad, Tabin Wildlife Sdn Bhd, Saham Sabah Berhad, Sabah Development Berhad and Qhazanah Sabah Sdn Bhd.

Qhazanah Sabah also presented an additional RM5mil under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The State Government also received a contribution of RM1mil from the Rural Development Cooperative (KPD), which declared profit based on the performance of its subsidiary companies this year.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor witnessed the handing over of dividends to Finance Ministry Permanent Secretary Datuk Rusdin Riman in a brief ceremony at Menara Kinabalu near here Tuesday.
