Sarawak Polls: Amanah to contest eight seats

KUCHING: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) will be contesting eight seats in the upcoming Sarawak state election.

Sarawak Amanah deputy chairman Hud Andri said the decision was finalised during a meeting on Sunday (Dec 5) evening.

The eight seats are - Samariang, Demak Laut, Muara Tuang, Gedong, Sebuyau, Kabong, Semop, and Jemoreng.

In a statement, Hud said the endorsement letters were handed over by Amanah secretary-general Datuk Dr Hatta Ramli at Amanah’s headquarters in Sarawak.

During the previous Sarawak state election in 2016, Amanah contested 13 seats but lost all.

Amanah also failed to retain its deposit in nine seats out of the 13 it contested.
