Showcasing unique Melanau fabric through batik linut in Miri

Unique print: Batik linut has attractive patterns.

MUKAH: It originates from a Melanau village in Kampung Telian here but now “batik linut”, which is known for its unique characteristic because of its use of rumbia or sago flour to create motifs on the fabric, is carving its name on the world stage through the city of Miri.

Diana Rose, who runs a local company here, said Miri was selected to promote the product because it was a cosmopolitan city that serves as a major gateway for the northern region.
