A bandaged Andy Lau sparks concern

FANS of Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau got worried after he appeared in public with a heavily-bandaged right hand, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 60-year-old was recently photographed alighting from a car dressed in chic black for an event.

However, fans noticed that the star had lost weight and that his right hand was in a bandage.

They speculated that Lau could have sustained the injury on the set of the action movies Crisis Route and The Wandering Earth 2.

In 2017, the singer-actor suffered injuries after he fell off a horse while filming a commercial near Bangkok.

Last year, he was again admitted to hospital after he got hurt during the shooting of Shock Wave 2.

> While her concert at the Kaohsiung Arena in Taiwan was cancelled in June due to Covid-19 concerns, organisers managed to book Fish Leong, 42, for three concert dates in the United States, the daily also reported.

The Negri Sembilan-born queen of love ballads will be staging her Classical Love Songs Concert in Connecticut, Las Vegas and Maryland on Nov 24, 27 and 30, respectively.

Her fans in Taiwan were disappointed and wondered when Leong would resume holding concerts there.

“Don’t be so impatient. We Malaysian fans don’t even get to have one concert,” a fan from Malaysia wrote in response.

Apparently, talks between Leong’s management and the Kaohsiung Arena have resumed.

It was reported that 28,000 tickets for two of Leong’s earlier concert dates in December 2020 were sold out in less than eight minutes, raking in sales of T$81.2mil (RM11.8mil).

> King of Mandopop Jay Chou stepped in to calm fans after they accused K-pop singer Lay Zhang of plagiarising his song Perfectionism, according to Sin Chew Daily.

They pointed to similarities between the song and Zhang’s new tune Cowherd Boy, which was uploaded to YouTube on Oct 15.

Some fans even created videos comparing the musical elements of each song, which soon escalated into a war of words.

Zhang, 30, had kept mum throughout the episode until the 42-year-old Chou shared Cowherd Boy on his social media.

Chou even tagged Zhang and added a picture of the Monkey King (Sun Wukong) riding on his Nimbus Cloud, implying that he hoped Zhang’s song would “soar towards the sky”.

“Thank you, older brother, for your support,” Zhang commented on the post.

Chou’s gesture placated fans and the heated debate died down overnight.
