MyDigital ID hits 14.2 million registrations with over 82 million logins

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 14.2 million Malaysians have registered for MyDigital ID, which has recorded 82.75 million login transactions since 2024, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“The figures were recorded as of Oct 7, 2026, with current usage exceeding 200,000 transactions daily.

“The digital identity platform now supports more than 200 applications and digital services across the public and private sectors,”  he said in a written parliamentary reply by the Prime Minister’s Department on Thursday (Oct 15).

Ahmad Zahid said MyDigital ID used several cryptographic security mechanisms to protect users’ digital identities and personal information against unauthorised access and alteration.

These include the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), the SHA-256 hashing algorithm, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Ahmad Zahid said the Government is also preparing to adopt post-quantum cryptography to address potential cyber threats.

The department said this will allow the system to adopt updated security protocols in line with evolving national policies and international standards

He was responding to Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (PN-Masjid Tanah) on the latest MyDigital ID registration and usage figures, as well as the cryptographic security measures used to protect users’ digital identities.
